Are Ray Clark's pants on fire?

The Monument Newspaper wrote an article about the Gray Public Library association, when Ray Clark was President. Ray Clark was asked about the bond the organization had planned to present. This was significant because the Mr. Clark had made public statements that their plan for the new library would 'not cost the taxpayers a cent.' The reporter found documents that proved otherwise.

When asked about the three quarters of a million dollar bond, Mr. Clark denied it existed and called it a rumor. Fortunately, the reporter had source documentation that proved otherwise. The source documentation was a filing with the IRS to claim non-profit status. When reminded about the documents, Mr Clark said he "forgot all about it."

Exchange is below.

reporter: Can you explain more about the $660,000 bond that the GPLA is proposing for 2007?

Clark: So far as I know, this is fiction. There is no bond issue. Please tell me where you heard this rumor.

Reporter: I read The GPLA's Exhibit 2 of the your IRS Financial data, form 1023, Part IX. In it, under the year 2007 for "income", is listed "Local Bond issue" for the specific amount of $660,000. Again, would you be so kind as to provide a bit more information about this information that is in your IRS packet?

Clark: I forgot all about that.

  • Ray Clark's Lies will catch him and set his pants on fire! The fact is, He and Mitch jointly decided {before the illegal meeting} not to disclose the Bond information until they achieved their Goal. They purposely attempted to 'bilk the public'!! This was documented in one of the back issues of the GN...just another unethical move on Ray's part! He LIES and cannot be Trusted..EVER!!

  • So let's see, you finish one post continuing your bizarro attack on Ray, then post to another blog about the sadness of a girl's death. Yeah, life's too short, but you spend it vilifying another human being. Yuck.

  • Clarks lies will forever haunt any good the GPLA may try to do. They (Clark and GPLA) can never be trusted.

Too bad. They had some promise, but I do not see how they can dig themselves out of the hole Clark dug.

  • I think you’re getting so many blogs mixed up. Elizabeth Prata posts things to her blog, and Biasbuster posts things to Biasbuster’s blog. The two blogs are different.

As to vilifying Mr. Clark or your term 'bizarro attack'. I was not the one who lied. I consider it an attack on the citizens for Mr. Clark to have lied the way he did. And, pretty bizarre for him to try and slough it off.

Shooting the messenger is rarely a good defense for the indefensible. Again, though, Mr. Clark was the one who chose to lie in print. I’m sorry you don’t feel more strongly about THAT. But some people care that the editor lied in print, even if you do not.

  • I have a question for anonymous 1:57: how does Biasbuster's reporting verbatim of what Mr. Clark said, vilify him?

  • Ray Clark SHOULD have to report to his "board"...but apparently that either simply does not exist or they are complicit with his and Nathans behavior.

  • Since they have tolerated Clark's surreptitious behavior so long you can be sure they are complicit with and as unethical as Clark. People are wiseing-up to what the Gray News is all about.
