From the Code of Ethics: Identify sources whenever feasible. The public is entitled to as much information as possible on sources' reliability.
BUST: Ray Clark uses unidentified sources in his articles, something the Code of Ethics advises against.

From the Code of Ethics: 'Test the accuracy of information from all sources and exercise care to avoid inadvertent error. Deliberate distortion is never permissible."
BUST: Ray Clark did not go to the meeting which he is reporting on. He hardly ever does. He is violating the code by failing to test the accuracy of the information. Distortions occur. The Chair of the Gray Town Council publicly corrected many of those distortions last week, several of which were revealed as deliberate.

The fact for the first item is contained in the entry: the excerpt with date shows Ray Clark using anonymous sources from stories that were printed in The Gray News, and the bust showing that is an inappropriate practice is excerpted from the Code of Ethics.
As to the second: anyone can go to any council meeting and see that Mr. Clark is not there.

To anonymous saying he will not advertise: I do not own a paper.
I do, truly, I do, understand that it is hard for people who have loved an institution for so long to see without a shadow of a doubt that they are not what they once were...anger ensues. I understand that. People get angry to be shown that the GN is not too good.

There are still many old-timers in Gray who have fond memories of the Gray News. It is very difficult for them to realize that the Gray News of 30 and 20 years ago is extinct.
This blog serves well to raise the expectation of the inhabitants, and no longer tolerate bad performance. It is time we should expect more.
